$692 Billion Well Spent.

     Today, I'm going to do a little 180 degree turn and talk about some hefty tax dollars that are well spent. I hear alot of complaining, from the Liberal Left, about military spending and the cost of war funding. I would like to layout some facts about the US Military Budget and what I see that we, as tax payers receive for our money.
      First off, the US military has 1.48 million active duty members and 1.46 National Guard and Reserve Member. This is almost 3 million REAL jobs directly created by the military forces. However, this is only the tip of the iceberg for jobs actually created and sustained by military dollars. There are government contracted civilian support personnel on every US military base in the world. This results in approximately 600 thousand additional jobs directly created and sustained by our military funds. So, Now were at 3.5 - 3.6 million jobs.
       Now then, let talk about the manufacturing jobs created by the military purchasing and contract  offices. Every item purchased by the military creates jobs. Not only direct manufacturing jobs, but warehousing, shipping, receiving as well as 2nd & 3rd tier supplier jobs and construction jobs for military facilities and support.
      So, as you can see, almost all of the tax dollars spent on our military forces are returned to our local, state, and federal economies. This is one of the few government programs that actually strenghten our economy.
     Oh yeah, let's not forget that we also receive the BEST military forces and National Security in the world. In my opinion, these are the best tax dollars that we will ever spend.
