With a wave of enthusiasm building in the mindset of the voting public, we all must step back, and take inventory of what, from a strategic standpoint, is at stake in the next two election cycles. The momentum of the Republican party, in the upcoming election, shed's light on a shift of ideals in the American population, however, we must educate ourselves and others of what to expect after this election and what to plan for in the next.
Next week's election is crucial to setting the tone for regaining control of our government. We, the Republican party, can surely, and will most likely take back majority ruling of the House of Representatives. We will definitely gain traction in the Senate, however, regaining majority in the Senate is most unlikely in this cycle.
So, that being said, how does this play into our goals to reverse the damaging legislation passed by the current administration? Well, as we all know, or at least should know, it takes a super-majority vote (60%), in both the House and the Senate, to repeal legislation and, as you can see, this won't happen during the upcoming term. But this doesn't mean that we can't delay the actions of the legislation.
With gained seats in the Senate and majority ruling of the House, our elected officials will have the power to stall the funding of this legislation, deeming it virtually stagnant, until after the next election cycle.
Now, This is where we need to set our sites! The 2012 election cycle is crucial, maybe more so than the current cycle, in it's role to kill the current, economically parasitic legislation that will ruin our country as we know it if we don't continue to add power to this wave. With the opportunity to add even more Republican seats to the House, gain super-majority strength in the Senate and take back the Administrative branch, we then have the controlling power needed to end the bleeding. Yes, the next two years are that important!
Now, get out there and vote. The rest is up to you!
