YOU Need To Get Involved

How many of you, and be honest with yourself, feel that you are actively involved in politics? I'm not talking about watching Hannity or O'Reilly every day and complaining about the country's current situation to your family and friends. I'm talking about being involved.
Not only is it our right to be active participants in our local, state and federal governments, it's our responsibility! We are all, as constituents, employers of our government leaders. They work for us. We, as tax payers, are their employers! So, get off your ass, quit complaining and get involved!
You can start by attending your respective city council meetings and county commission meetings. Educate yourself as to what is going on in your own local government. Get to know your city and count representatives and what they are all about. Then, contact them about your wants, needs and concerns as their employer.
Volunteer for campaign committee for your respective state and federal congressional leaders. This is of the utmost importance. Go door to door, during campaign season, and talk to your neighbors, and fellow constituents about what they expect from the leaders that you support. Relay this information to the person that you're representing and help them to better serve their voter base.
Write to your congressmen on a regular basis and encourage others to do the same. Our leaders, as good, or bad, as they may be, are not mind readers. They won't know what you expect from them, as constituents, if you don't tell them. Express your opinion and concerns by contacting their local offices and/or utilizing the tools at www.nwyc.com . Let them know what is expected of them as their employer.
Get involved now! It's your responsibility!
