112th Congress

So, the 112th congress gets sworn in and take their seats tomorrow. Can this freshman class really make a difference. Did they get the message on November 2nd that the voting public was sick and tired of politics as usual? Let's hope so,.
The Republicans have set a date of January 12th to vote on the repeal of Obamacare on the house floor. as futile as this effort may be, it will possibly send a message to the left that the people have spoken and representation for the voters has finally landed where it belongs.
Why is this an effort in futility? Simply stated, the republicans can, and probably will get this vote through the House. However, without majority control of the Senate, it will be hard to gain enough Democratic votes to pass. Even if it does, somehow, happen to slip through a Senate vote, Our illustrious Commander In Chief will surely veto it and.... without a super-majority vote of 67% the Congress cannot over-ride the veto.
It will send a message to the White House of what to expect over the next two years, but yet, it will never have enough teeth to be viable.
